Do Multivitamins Work?(Side Effects and Benefits)

Should I take be taking multivitamin daily? is actually the most asked question. So the answer is

A multivitamin can never be a substitute of Healthy food, which is the best source of vitamins, minerals, and all important nutrients. But even if your diet is good or balanced(With fitness prospective), you may fall short of recommended daily intake for number of nutrients, So in that case a multivitamin pill is not a bad idea for daily consumption.
According to a study conducted by Metropolis Healthcare on Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin B9 to observe the deficiency and sufficiency of vitamins within the inhabitants across India, almost 70% of population has shown deficiency due to their hectic living schedules, and when the same study happened in America, almost 40% were vitamin deficient while 40% reported that they take multivitamin daily.

Essential Vitamins required everyday:

Main function of vitamin is to help in growth and these compounds can not be made by our body, so we consume them through our food or daily diet. A Multivitamin pill basically has Vitamin C,
Vitamin B1 (thiamin), Vitamin  B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 ( niacin), Vitamin B6, Folic acid (B9), Vitamin B12, Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), Biotin, Vitamin D2 or D3 ( cholecalciferol), Vitamin K, Potassium, Iodine, Selenium, Borate, Zinc, Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, IronVitamin A and Vitamin E. A supplement that contains all the 8 is referred to as vitamin B complex out of which 6 are water-soluble and 2 are fat-soluble.

Composition of multivitamins varies by brand, but each must contain three or more vitamins and minerals in a single dose below the upper allowed limit. Most of our healthy foods like green vegetables, pulses, dairy products, milk have sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals and completes our recommended daily vitamin intake.

Recommended Daily Vitamin Intake:
Recommended Daily Intakes and Upper Limits are two terms that we often use for Multivitamins doses,The government sets tolerable upper limits on most vitamins and minerals. Which are defined for every age group and gender, and then there are Mature multivitamins which are customized for men and women over the age of 50 (Multivitamins for senior citizen).

I can't put everything and actually it's difficult to write everything in a proper sequence so I am referring my readers to a perfectly written website for Multivitamin intake.Click Here

Benefits of daily Vitamins and Minerals:

OK, benefits of taking a multivitamin depend if you are taking them as per recommendation or in any need.
In the starting I wrote a paragraph that shows people lack few nutrients even after taking good diet and sometimes due to their work-engaged life they can't feed their health with best healthy foods. Moreover, the vast majority of supplements(specially multivitamin) used in the world are based on personal choice, not because they are recommended by health care professionals. Some lifestyle often results in unbalanced and unhealthy food habits which cause lack of proper nutrition in daily food. This lack of good diet and nutrition leads to changes which are not visible on a daily basis but certainly have an influence in the long term, so people with hectic lifestyle should take one.In short it's benefits are it's properties like it can keep lethargy, tiredness at some distance from you and you can complete your all-day long works without tiring.

Again I would say If someone is eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables and whole grains (healthy food) they should be getting all the nutrition they need.

For Athletes and Bodybuilders: People involving in vigorous physical activities can benefit their body with multivitamin as its unique combination of well chosen vitamins, minerals and ginseng* helps in proper assimilation and utilization of nutrients in the body. As a result, you won't experience the conditions that are typical to tiredness and fatigue. You will feel fit and active all day long.
*Ginseng has been actively researched in various parts of the world where it is consumed as food supplement for improving vitality of the body.

When To Take Multivitamin?:

Some people prefer to take multivitamins with breakfast or before bed.Well it's all OK, It really doesn’t matter what time of day you take your multivitamin pill, but taking them with food can help lessen any stomach discomfort.
Conclusion:

Think of multivitamins as an insurance policy, but don’t fool yourself into thinking dietary supplements measure up to the benefits of maintaining a healthy body weight, eating right, and getting regular physical activity. That’s because multivitamins lack a number of beneficial compounds for wellness, including phytonutrients, and fiber, found in plant foods.

Overall, multivitamins are a minor component of good health, but worthy ones, I can say.

Stay Healthy, Stay Fit.
